R C Taylor & Son was set up over 65 years ago, with the aim of providing a wide range of stone, sand and other aggregates – as well as animal stock feed – at highly competitive prices.

William ‘Bill’ Taylor founded the company in 1956. His son, Richard, joined him in 1971. The company was called W G Taylor & Sons, before Richard went on to set up R C Taylor in 1978. Richard’s son, Brett, took his HGV test as soon as he was 21 and became a partner in 2001. The company then changed to R C Taylor & Son Ltd. Brett has many years' experience as a mechanic and undertakes most of the repairs and maintenance of the lorries.

Our business has gone from strength to strength and became a limited company in 2011. At this time Brett’s wife, Mandy, joined the business as the accounts and office manager. In October 2015 Richard decided to retire from driving but remains a very reliable relief driver. Mandy passed her Certificate of Professional Competence for Transport Managers in April 2018 and is now our Transport Manager. In September 2022, we welcomed Chloe as an Apprentice Business Administrator. Chloe remains with the company as a fully qualified Business Administrator.

Our equipment currently includes five 8-wheeler, bulk bodied lorries and we also have a team of reliable subcontractors that we use in busy periods. We can supply and deliver aggregates of any type including decorative aggregates, sand, gravel and quality topsoil. Our wide range of animal stock feed includes sugar beets, fodder beets, and clamp silage, all delivered straight to your farm. Prices vary throughout the year so please email or call us for a quote.
